Facebook, like most social media giants, adheres to an EU regulation called the GDPR. It is a big and complex law that protects how user data is stored and used.

One of the rules is called “the right to be forgotten” which forces a company to remove all data it has collected. Once requested, they must comply within 30 days, or risk EU fines and sanctions. As you might guess, this deletion is not an easy or cheap process for a company to do.

GDPR applies to all EU citizens, regardless of their current location (even if abroad). It also applies to foreign nationals accessing the Internet from within the EU. However, there is no reason I couldn’t tell Facebook I’m a dual US / Ireland citizen, right? Or that I often access Facebook from Germany?

We could swamp them with deletion requests, causing tons of work that gains them nothing, and a sliding user base which might hurt their valuation too.

Just another of my weird ideas..,

Interesting wording, "accesses the internet from within the EU"...

Is that the explicit wording in the law?

How would that apply if I used a VPN to access the internet from a server from within the EU? Log in to Facebook via VPN, and submit the request so that's it's coming from an EU based server.

The language seems to be, according to this site, seems to around whether the data could be used for services rendered in the EU, regardless of the user’s location. I get ads from EU companies all the time.

I would guess that they don't waste resources confirming whether a request is legitimate. Especially if the request comes from within the EU. I certainly can't see any harm in trying.

The globalists that are behind facebook had a hand in crafting the GDPR. So expect them to be able to use that piece of legislation for their interests, very well, as well.

EU wanted to ban Facebook. Facebook threatened to quit. US government told EU to backdown and not harass American business. Not sure what’s up now.

I think China is the only country managed to ban large American business without starting a war, but they didn’t do it for privacy for sure.

I like this.

As of now fagbook does have an option to request every byte of data they have collected on you and will send it in a .pdf

I might be mistaken but, I think you can request a full deletion of your data when you request that pdf. If they actually comply is anyones guess. They probably just send it off to one of their subsidiary data mining ops.
