My 80+ year old grandma is on a ventillator in the Grand Rapids/Cadillac Michigan area. They're trying to find her antibodies to start treatment but none of the hospitals they've called have antibodies that come from rare RH- plasma. If anyone with RH- plasma has donated their antibodies recently or will be to any hospital in Michigan, specifically Northern Michigan, I'd appreciate letting me know so that we can try to start antibody treatment on my grandma since she has not been doing very well and we're afraid she will continue declining without antibody treatment.

Thank you in advance!!

Mods should sticky. Fuck China for unleashing this plague and arresting the responsible doctors who attempted to raise the alarms.

I feel for you. We live in that area. Hubby was on a vent back in April for two days. Most people on a vent die. Wish you well but prepare yourself. And to anybody reading this, get yourself some zinc and quercetin and vit d to keep on hand. Govt wont let us have the real medicine but this is over the counter stuff and helps.

Yeah, it's criminal the way the Governor has handicapped being able to help people in the State. Hope you and your husband are doing well now!

He is ok now but he couldnt even walk or brush his teeth after the ventilator. Required 6 weeks of PT. I wish you the best of luck. We are living in very trying times.

Make sure she gets the hydroxycloroquine. They did the Henry ford study up there and it doubles her chances of survival!

9
J_Dubya_C [S] 9 points ago +9 / -0

That was my preference as well. She started Remdesivir treatment yesterday morning.

2
Emper 2 points ago +2 / -0

Wow. Look up the Henry ford study and look up remdesivir. Ask the doctor about those studies and demand they explain why they are giving her a drug with worse outcomes. Hell I could be wrong but from the studies it looks like hydroxycloroquine is much more effective.

I am RH- but not in your area. Any chance I can donate in my area and have it shipped to Michigan?

35
J_Dubya_C [S] 35 points ago +35 / -0

I have another family member that's a nurse in Michigan so let me reach out and ask her whether that's something that would work in this situation and I'll let you know ASAP. I appreciate your response!

i havent had covid. is that ok?

25
J_Dubya_C [S] 25 points ago +25 / -0

For now, the primary thing she needs is antibodies so I don't believe your donation would benefit her immediately but I really appreciate your willingness to help! I'll say that your donation might help others in need of RH- blood which seems to be in low supply so if you can and don't mind it, then donating is definitely appreciated!

CandyCoated45 16 points ago +16 / -0

OK, if I can be of help, please dont hesitate to ask. My best to you and your grandmother.

Have you recovered from COVID, you have the antibodies?

12
CandyCoated45 12 points ago +12 / -0

I have NOT had covid but I am RH-, CMV-, O-

3
Maga2020Maga2020 3 points ago +3 / -0

She needs the anti-bodies, they most likely have RH- just not RH- from someone confirmed to have had covid and recovered.

Anyone with AB+ blood is also a universal donor for plasma.

https://www.redcrossblood.org/donate-blood/blood-types/ab-blood-type.html

7
ChinaVirus 7 points ago +7 / -0

You have it backwards. AB+ is universal receiver, O- is the universal donor!

2
308freedom 2 points ago +2 / -0

That is for blood, not plasma.

Not a doctor. I am a biochemist. Just means I understand a reasonable amount. I have doctor friends that have been successful with the following and ivermectin. You shouod ask why they went to the ventilator without going to higher oxygen cpap or bipap first. The barotrauma should be avoided at all costs. That being said feel free to look at the protocol below וwith the addition of ivermectin. At the very least consider getting the doctor to ok the zinc and iv glutathione. For your research. Best of luck and prayer for her recovery.

What test would I have had before to let me know what kind of plasma I have? I've given blood and know I'm O-

5
ChickNorris 5 points ago +5 / -0

It's just a simple blood test. They do it on women in the first trimester of pregnancy because being RH- while pregnant can cause complications, not in the first pregnancy but in later pregnancies.

2
Proudly_Deplorable 2 points ago +2 / -0

I keep getting messages from the Red Cross about giving a free antibody test if you donate blood, so you can find out that way if you have them.

How can someone get tested to see what type of plasma they have?

Fourtyandfourtyfive 3 points ago +3 / -0

This is the exact reason I tell Karen at the front door to spam off when telling me to mask up.

I WANT TO CATCH COVID!!! My body my choice, right??

I want to build the antibodies for my kids and grandkids.

If we hide from any disease, we’ll never build antibodies.

Edit J Dubya C. Watch that ventilator. Just lost a family member because the vent was pushing C02 instead of O2. His blood gas test was off the charts. If she gets to feeling bad, demand a blood gas check.

God, please keep this Grandmother safe!

3
Bax101 3 points ago +3 / -0

Sorry she is on the ventilation. That is a sure death sentence. That is what actually kills you. My friend is a nurse and she said that when you go on the ventilator they hook you up on 7 to 9 different drips of opiates. You never can recover. I'm am sorry pedes, but this is the stone cold truth and its why I have been out on stores fronts before trying to educate people about this. The ventilation is how hospitals get paid by the insurance companies. It's like a mark up with sales and its disgusting. Once again I am sorry pede if she is on it for more than a week she has a thin line of recovery. Please get back to us and tell us she recovers or not.

3
RedFemmeRedemption 3 points ago +3 / -0

Please, please, ask them to give her a high dose of vitamin D, zinc and intravenous vitamin c. This could save her life!

Dr. Patrick talks about those for covid here: https://youtu.be/4_ZJ8YDOX6g

Also, are they giving her the same medications they gave to Trump? That could help tremendously! He took dexamethasone and aspirin as well.

The complete list is here: https://www.health.com/condition/infectious-diseases/coronavirus/donald-trump-covid-19-treatment-medications

Godspeed your grandma recovery!

Put up signs around area colleges fast, before the break.

So many students have already had it.

Just offer a couple hundred bucks and you will be flooded with calls.

Get her a glutathione supplement, ASAP.

2
SevenThunders 2 points ago +2 / -0

Can she get hydroxychloroquine and zinc and an antibiotic? If not get the antibiotic, take 500-1000 mg per day of quercetin, and have her take a lot of ionic zinc. That would be cold-eze and/or zicam from your local pharmacy.

There are protocols on the web. Also to reduce inflammation take pure powdered vitamin C up to bowel tolerance. That would be 10-40 grams of vitamin C per day, or 100 times the so called (pathetic) FDA recommendation. Also very important is to take vitamin D, at least 5000 IU per day. But I'd take 10,000 IU if sick.

2
BobsNoCommie 2 points ago +2 / -0

For reference if your blood type ends in a negative, then you are RH- regardless of blood type. Plasma doesn't care about blood type otherwise

2
Wess-mantooth 2 points ago +2 / -0

Ive got the goods in HTX if anybody needs that good blood

2
randyboss 2 points ago +2 / -0

Most people know that blood type O- is the "universal donor", i.e. the universal BLOOD donor. However, in terms of PLASMA, blood type AB+ is actually the UNIVERSAL PLASMA DONOR! Less than 4% of our population is AB+; so if you have this blood type and have recovered from coronavirus, please consider a convalescent plasma donation; you can donate plasma more often than blood!

2
MAGASquatch 2 points ago +2 / -0

God bless. My prayers for your grandma may she recover swiftly.

Are you all retarded? Covid-19 is a scam. Your grandma is no-doubt sick, and no-doubt it’s very serious, but “covid-19” is branding, not science. And if anything is killing her, it’s the ventilator.

9
KickingPugilist 9 points ago +9 / -0

It's over hyped for the most part, but it still exists.

2
Slartibartfast1 2 points ago +2 / -0

Really? Have they isolated it yet? Last I read from the CDC they hadn’t isolated it, but they test for a strand of RNA common to different versions of the coronavirus. If you’ve ever had a coronavirus infection, you’ve likely got chunks of that RNA floating around in your system. For years. Which is why people without symptoms test positive so often.
