After the War of 1812, there was a push by some Americans to take control of Canadian land to 54 40 north latitude. The saying was 54 40 or fight! We should have done it.

The great north with be the biggest producer of oil, and metals in the world. And we'd have a year round base on the north pole. And someone would of already dug out the money pit and realized it's just an old latrene where garbage was dumped.
