That intel is from us. Aviationpedes were confirming each other's numbers, plus a few USAF pedes, they said it was 1800 aircraft or so. EDIT: to be clear, a couple said it was listed as a "drill", but we've not seen such a drill before in a very long time.
Monkeywerx confirming certain notable aircraft leaving DC for Guantanamo while these other birds (1300, not 1800, still an insane number) are in the air. This was around 6pm EST.
