Yeah, lets just get rid of the whole concept of EDUCATION, and just read things we like or agree with....../s

As long as viewpoints are balanced, or debate and dissent over the material is allowed, then it is not indoctrination.

Exposure to works and materials that a person otherwise might not pick up themselves has enlightened many a person, myself included.

A person is ALWAYS free to read what ever else they see fit to read, so long as people that would censor others are kept at bay.

Unfortunately, you are correct that over the past 40 years, the reading lists of schools and universities are now COMPLETELY slanted toward the left. You would also be correct that this IS indoctrination, since alternative viewpoints are neither presented, nor allowed. Nor is debate or dissension.

But the problem isn't being presented with material that you don't necessarily cotton to. The problem is the complete viewpoint IMBALANCE and the lack of any kind of dissent, debate, or discussion.

This is probably the most insidious kind of censorship.

But I get your point about what is going on in what passes for education today. It's a complete perversion of the concept education.....:)
