The reason is that Asians do as well as (actually better) than whites in school. So there are no "inequity"' points to be mined from their demographic. Just succeeding makes you white = systemically racist, therefore Asian-Americans' success denies them oppressed minority status.
But what made them successful? They certainly grew up poorer than anyone in a modern ghetto today (especially during the communist Mao years in China, when people literally starved to death), all they had was their culture to bring with them.
