When someone wants to legitimize a mental/psychological condition, make the entirety of the population bow down to the whims of some 0.5% of it, and FORCE irreversible procedures on kids that don't know anything about anything, then it's everyone's problem and should be taken very seriously and dealt with.

I have conservative trans friends.... The difference between a trans person and a crazy trans MA'AM is clear... My dear friend Jane, (s)he is very graceful about erm, her life situation. Jane is self-sufficient, not desperate for lovers and dates, just living life the way Jane wants. Jane is a 'passing' trans, i.e. you wouldn't know based off your first interaction Jane is a trans person. Jane is a musician, a happy person. Jane has not gotten any operations and doesn't plan to. Shaving and maintaining long hair, doing make-up is about the extent all trans folks I know go to. They are more comfortable living their lives that way. They avoid public multi-person, gendered restrooms. There are a few awkward things about being trans... What bathroom do you slip into if the need arises and a choice must be made????? Probably best to go to the one that matches your genitals and just breeze through any needed awkward explanation? Who knows? We're all just humans figuring this stuff out. Jane is 'pretty.' I think of Jane as a girl who is simply not a girl I would date. Not my erm, type. I definitely greet her warmly and flash a smile at her, "I know your secret and you are dope," type of look. Jane is a musician first, a lover of the universe second, and also a gay man cleverly masquerading as a lady.
I just view it as I wouldnt want people to tell me what I can do with my money and vice versa. I'll show the common respect and treat others how I would like to be treated. I think this could all be avoided by just designing better bathrooms.
