Yes, WIlliam F Buckley may be considered the father of American Conservatism but Rush brought it to the masses and made it understandable and validated that the guy on Main Street had the same conservatism as some intellectual university professor type. In fact, Rush may well have proved it was the working class guy whose conservatism was the "Real America". I sincerely hope Rush is still with us when President Trump finally puts the dagger into the heart of the Establishment and regains the electoral win the swamp tried to steal from him.
