My take on him is he is a visionary pragmatist, or an sociopathic opportunist, they're kinda different sides of the same coin. He has a clear goal that is is pursuing at all costs. In order to get there, he looks at the world as it is and figures out how best to leverage that world to get what he wants. He's not out trying to change the world or usher in global communism like Gates et al, but he has no problem abusing a fucked up system to get what he wants. Now that he's seeing that the system he's been taken advantage of is on the brink of getting blown up, he's out speaking against the NWO.

Oh man, I didn’t think about that at first, of course they want to go with the guy in “the club”. Let’s hope Hell hath no fury like a Space contractor scorned!

lol. you're not wrong, but keep in mind that Bezos hasn't put a single rocket into orbit.

I know they've got New Glenn and all that, but give me a break- their methods are so old school, no way they can keep up. Kinda like how NASA's SLS is years behind schedule and billions over budget? Yeah, Blue Origin is using those same development methods.

The way I see it, SpaceX brought Agile to the space industry and is killing it. The cat is out of the bag. No holding them back at this point.

No problem - just blackmail/coerce/force SpaceX to sell their company to Bezos, then send Musk to the gulag.

I think you're spot on with the pragmatist. I can't say I'm his biggest fan. From my perspective most of his success has come through playing a game I've been rebelling against most of my adult life. However, when it came down to his success vs the best thing for humanity he pushed back at potentially great cost to himself and his current status. That is definitely commendable.

Am I the only one that is okay with abusing a f***ed up system? I mean Trump did too. If the games rules are broken and tends to hurt the average player but you have to play, might as well make the best of it.

FWIW I wasn't making that statement as a moral judgement one way or the other, but you're right. Only a fool ignores reality while living in it. Libertarians and government subsidies are the classic example. On the one hand you believe that any government subsidize are evil. On the other hand, if you live by your principles and reject all government subsidies, you are at a competitive disadvantage and will never get anywhere. It's not hypocritical to accept reality so that you can function in it while simultaneously arguing that the system is broken and should be fixed.

What did he do to "abuse the system" -- take money from the government to develop a totally new product and company in a market that has enormous financial barriers, not to mention solving all of the technical problems?

It has been the policy of the US government to develop a battery-powered car for at least the last 50 years, and the grant money has flowed all that time, only to encounter real, technical difficulty.

A LOT of well-funded people have made the attempts, but Musk delivered, and if we can manage to keep our political families away from the trough for another four years, the whole country may benefit.

Jesus even told a parable ab an accountant who cheated his Boss by allowing clients to pay a part of their debt...so he coud keep his job. Jesus commented that the children of the world are smarter ab such things...I agree: Elon works The System. But, some good has come from it.
