It would OBVIOUSLY be hit with partisanship on both sides... but I bet it would even out.
The standout journalists would likely have the people who can actually be objective while reading(somewhat independent) see an increase in ratings noticeable enough to see who the decent journalists are.
A ranking site by readers would be tremendous.
