There used to be a time without income tax. Service fees were paid for services used, and a modest sales tax would cover things like policing and teachers. Generally speaking, these people worked hard and didn’t bilk the system. If they didn’t like the pay they quit instead of striking.

Now working for the government is a lifestyle. There are no standards and seemingly no project they won’t fund. Not only is the taxpayer on the hook for these projects, but they have to support the equivalent of three other people who use the service but don’t pay in. On top of this, they flat out take half of your taxes and redistribute them to people who are trained to hate you, think you’re greedy, and vote explicitly against you and your livelihood.
