Sheriffs and the police don't have time to enforce bull crap laws. It's the reason why the mask mandates failed nationally. Dem governors are so out of touch, they believed they could just toss the mandates to the cops to enforce. As soon as the cops said they didn't have time for it, it was passed to the business owners. In much the same way, many businesses said they wouldn't enforce the mandates. Which was also a problem, as far as the govs were concerned. Finally, they told the whiners, the fear-mongered, and the narcs that it was up to them to make sure the business owners enforced the mask policies for the gov't, not only for free but at their potential expense, after losing any of their freedom-loving customers.
Even after all that, L&I and the Liquor/Tobacco board have still told me that the mask mandate only applies to me and my employees, they don't expect me or my employees to police the public, but we must have the mask over our mouth and nose.
This all ends when we decide it does. Yes L&I can fine, but how about a freedom donation box at the front of the store to help offset those costs? How about flooding their narc reporting systems with fake reports at every individual big box store? Similarly flooding governors emails with random Thanskgiving reports perhaps.
