What I do is steep a couple slices of ginger And a crushed clove of garlic in A mug of boiled water for about five minutes, squeeze in half a lemon, drop in a heaping spoon of honey and then top the mug off with whiskey. Drink at the first signs of a sore throat and as needed. Sure as hell will help you sleep too.

Most “viral kill” studies are done by PCR which detects intact genetic material, regardless of viral viability.. they aren’t doing viral cultures in a hand soap or Lysol study..
I’ve worked in many a labs that handle viruses, and they are quite delicate outside their preferred homes (generally bodily fluids or cells). You can whip down a BSC that you handled virus cultures in with dawn dish soap and get signals on a PCR, but good luck culturing that sample... it won’t replicate.. everywhere just uses 1:100 or 1:10 dilution of bleach since FDA/USDA says they are acceptable cleaning solutions therefore you don’t need to validate cleaning regimes if you use it.
Unfortunately, this is probably not US taxpayer funded, so it won't make Rand Paul's annual list of moronic wasteful "scientific studies" of obvious things.
