My wife and I were over 80 grand in debt from college and we have 2 shitty jobs that we "earned" with them. We paid off ALL OF OUR DEBT. No assistance.

This is fucking bullshit.

It’s demoralizing how the debate has shifted from “No Way!!!” to “student loan forgiveness should cover X but not Y” as often happens with lefty plans + RINO complicity.

An inevitable consequence of the Overton Window shifting more and more left. I still say:

NoWAY!

110k for me. Don't even need my degree to make six figures. It's at least in business administration so it is a fallback, but looking back I shouldn't have drank the koolaid CalState University system sold me.

I spent years busting ass in a smelly-assed poultry processing plant when I wasn't in class (in order to supplement the GI Bill, which at the time wasn't nearly as much as it is today) just to get my EE degree.

Oh, and then there's the four years spent in uniform dodging jets in a fun little deathtrap called the flightline just to get that GI Bill.

So, now, some smelly-assed shitbird is crying because her student loan, which she bought a worthless degree in "communications" with, is a burden that she cannot pay off? Oh, that craptastic indoctrination on a sheepskin isn't marketable in the real world?

Yeah, no, too fucking bad.

(...prolly explains why so many of these cunts actively convince some loser to let them move in and then make 'em pay all the bills in exchange for a whiff of pussy once in awhile. And that, that is why you do not simp, gentlemen. Anyrate...)

Yeah, if these loans were imposed without consent, or if the degree was in something actually marketable, maybe I'd have some sympathy. But in most cases? fuck that. Go get a refund from the worthless diploma mill you got your worthless degree from, because they utterly failed you.

80 grand? That's cute

Signed, undergrad senior

4
ChipahTss 4 points ago +4 / -0

Well I paid the first two and half years out of pocket at the time.

1
Ben45 1 point ago +1 / -0

I'd basically need to work full time in order to pay out of pocket for tuition. I'm glad you were able to, must make a big difference

2 jobs

2
ModernKnight 2 points ago +2 / -0

I graduated with about 20k (for a degree which EVENTUALLY landed me a decent job), got that paid off in 3.5 years on what full time minimum wage was then ($7.50). Paying off my wife's $36k (for a degree in English) now, over half gone, and will have the rest paid off soon. Student loan forgiveness is not just a slap in the face of those smart enough to go into trades, but also a slap in the face to those of us who paid our loans off. Maybe 3 years ago a coworker was going on about how his daughter should have her loans forgiven because they were so large for a degree she couldn't get a job with, and he was shocked when I asked him why I should pay for his daughter's mistakes when I was responsible.

I, literally, paid off my student loans two weeks ago. I just got the email from Navient a few days ago. I've been paying on those fuckers since 2004.

Thanks to Biden I'll get to pay everybody else's.

Fuck Biden and his whole admn.

OutcastSeal 17 points ago +18 / -1

I'd benefit but I'd rather not live in a communist country

7
TommyLasordasBallBag 7 points ago +7 / -0

I feel you. I paid back 110k working two jobs and renting out a cheap room for 6 years.. no new cars.. just sacrifice.

4
ContaigeousSuicide 4 points ago +4 / -0

You would lose so much more than a little debt.

4
muslimporn 4 points ago +4 / -0

The question I want to ask is why they spend all this effort on an affordable health care plan but not an affordable higher education plan. Universities are price gauging.

It's not conceivable to me people can come out with over a hundred thousand in debt. It's not economical.

Most university courses can be crammed into a few months. They really don't give you much for the money.

W2 and 1099 tends to get in the way of that, so unless you do contractor work and on a cash-only basis...

(that, or you're a kick-ass waiter/waitress at a top-end restaurant and get fuckloads of tips...)

FreeNow 10 points ago +11 / -1

If they do this then they need to forgive all small biz debt, buy trucks and tools for the plumbers and landscapers, pay off the farmers mortgage etc. Or maybe we just tax the people with the student loan debt to pay off the student loan debt.

8
CommieCrats 8 points ago +8 / -0

There will be no great leap forward here! maoist dems like biden are owned!

8
Bianceziwo 8 points ago +8 / -0

Student loan forgiveness means taxpayers who didnt go to college pay off loans for those who did.

UBI is definitely way fairer than student loan forgiveness but both will probably bankript the country

4
The_kool_mom 4 points ago +4 / -0

Yeah, fuck that. My husband and I downsized our home from a 4 to a 2 bedroom to pay for our daughter's college. We didn't want her to be saddled with debt, and made sure she's getting a "real" degree. Why shoild we sacrifice while others just put their hands out?

8
TheViking 8 points ago +8 / -0

As someone who GOT one of those worthless degrees, no you should not. Thats my mistake. I own it.

6
somedickinohio 6 points ago +6 / -0

There seems to be a dirty secret about student loans no one talks about. The loans are used for too many things beside "education". The "students" get the money and are free to buy things like new iPhones, watches, computers, eat out, clothes, etc. Many live above their means and then whine about not being able to pay back the debt. The institutions(banks and education) are not free from guilt either, they KNOW what is bing done and condone it.

3
The_kool_mom 3 points ago +3 / -0

This.

6
Wtfbombs 6 points ago +7 / -1

Time to get a student loan and brag it over on FB about how it'll be forgiven. That will piss those working never-trumpers

5
Womp_womp 5 points ago +5 / -0

If they want to give out free money to people, it should go to everyone, equally, not just to those who fucked up their lives with unnecessary debt. It's the only fair way to do it.

And since this isn't reasonable or possible, maybe the douches who got into debt should just pay it off themselves.

5
shade1k 5 points ago +5 / -0

Repeal Biden's bill that prevented student debt from being written off in bankruptcy. Make the colleges and banks that loaned people 100k to get a degree in anti-racist basketweaving eat the cost. Some of that will still end up indirectly falling on taxpayers, but the idiots who loaned the money or allowed their funds to be invested in student debt need to be first in line to take the hit.

5
Libertynfreedom4ever 5 points ago +6 / -1

This will be a mass uprising of people not paying taxes. I will not pay for other people’s crap college degrees

5
Submariner 5 points ago +5 / -0

More pandering to the brainwashed youth. Is that all the left does to get votes aside from resurrecting dead people?

3
Heck 3 points ago +3 / -0

Don't forget inciting racial hatred!

4
DeepDMingDeep 4 points ago +4 / -0

Like mentioned on here earlier, if this is something that must be done, let it be paid for SOLELY by the colleges they went to.

It isn't even that really, the issue is you can get a loan for 100k for a useless degree...at 18...that you can't get out of....It is truly the definition of outrageous usury. you think of the paycheck cashing joints as bad, but the university system is leaps and bounds more evil. This isn't really possible since the university system is the governments atheistic equivalent of the church, all 'truth' springs forth from it so it must have a direct steady income supply.

If the government stopped backing the loans and made them bankrupted out of it would solve most of this. Oh yeah who was all for passing that bill? Biden of course.

Well, I too have many things planned for MY administration.

4
EyesInTheHills 4 points ago +5 / -1

If anyone should be paying, it should be the universities that created these worthless degrees and abused federal grants and loans to fraudulently inflate the cost of education.

4
The_kool_mom 4 points ago +4 / -0

Many of them have endowments worth hundreds of millions.

5
deleted 5 points ago +5 / -0
4
HandOfDonaldo 4 points ago +4 / -0

Yeap. If anyone should pay back that debt it would be the universities, for having pulled a fraud on the students by saying that they were "investing in their future". But then they also need to refund the people who actually paid too.

3
YOLOSwag_McFartnut 3 points ago +3 / -0

Do I get refunded for my loans I paid off or is that just part of my privilege to pay for mine and theirs?

3
SAW2TH 3 points ago +3 / -0

Make the colleges pay for it.

They are the ones that charged insane sums for useless shit.

3
de9ebkmd7 3 points ago +3 / -0

I don't even want to pay for your worthwhile degree! Fuck off!

3
ArticleISection10 3 points ago +3 / -0

this is why the dollar will become worthless - its being printed to be given to everyone for any fucking reason

3
ScipioAfricanus 3 points ago +3 / -0

More affirmative action for the upper class. Next thing you’ll tell me we will be subsidizing peoples 6-figure electric sports car purchases. Oh wait....

Huntersbabymama 1 point ago +1 / -0

I agree however that cost needs to be borne by the universities peddling useless degrees.

Hell simply change the law back to allow people to remove college debt by declaring bankruptcy and it will resolve itself.

Leave the tax payers out of it though.

MAG_n_KAG 2 points ago +2 / -0

So they want people who didnt go to college pay off debts for those who did.

And they also want people who did go to college and payed off their own debt, to pay off more debt?

ahem........FUCK THAT

MegaMagaManX 1 point ago +1 / -0

Get rekt bitches with your stupid social science bs degrees.

1
