I have a 2K 165 Hz gaming monitor. One of the best purchases I've ever made. Doom Eternal and Jedi: Fallen Order look fucking gorgeous on it.
i have a rtx 3080 and 4k 60hz...would a 1440p 144hz be superior?
I bought a refurbished curved 32 inch 1440 144hz monitor from aoc on Amazon for ~300, didn't come with the display port cord only an HDMI so was locked to 60fps. Legit was getting eye strain from being on 144hz for years to that.
For gaming, no. 1440p is a substantial step back from 4K. Once you've actually played games at 4K, everything else looks muddy and blurry.

No, I mean modern games. You can tell when the PS4 Pro running Valhalla switches between its 1440p and 1620p renders, same with Odyssey. Same with basically any other game you can name on the PC. 1440p was never more than a stop gap resolution to 4K. If hadn't upgraded to it by 2016-ish, it wasn't worth it. I upgraded from my 1440p panels to 4K panels in the fall of 2015.
Tfw you still have a 4790k but at least have a 1070ti.

I got two games. Bugsnax and Spiderman. Spiderman is literally the same as the last game but they replaced Peter Parker for a more diverse cast. These people act whiter than anyone Ive ever met in my life, however the story is "praised" for its writing. The bad guys are laughable. There is literally "Cock Knocker" from Jay and Silent Bob as one of the grunts.
Bugsnax is a game about Furries that try to capture bug/food hybrids to eat. Relatively innocent? Within the first two minutes of the game starting, there are lesbian furries kissing.
