Yeah, he had a pretty large tumor in his neck removed about two weeks ago. Turned out to be cancerous so he's going to do chemotherapy. Prayers for Dan and Paula!

Yay, good for your pops! My daddy's still going through it, 2.5 years now. He's a tough ol guy though, and he credits his success so far to Jesus and his amazing attitude. He's really been an inspiration to me through it.

Right behind you Pede...8 rounds of chemo and 15 rounds of radiation...He will God Willing get better. He is in God's hands and working with great physicians who will take good care of him.....that was 15 years ago and I am sure all treatments have improved since then as well.

Luckily the type he has is Hodgkin lymphoma. It has a 5 year survival rate of 92% to 78% depending on how early they caught it. It doesn't mean it's not incredibly dangerous. It really is. But its treatable.
I had the same cancer in my mid 20s and kicked it’s ass. It’s no easy win but I believe that Dan will crush cancers ass in the ground! He’s in my prayers and I know he’ll beat this! We are winners!!
Me too, Jsmitty! Stage IV, been in remission 32 years, Praise God! My docs said if I was going to have cancer, Hodgkin’s was the one to get because it was so curable (even then). I don’t want to minimize Dan’s fight, but his prognosis is excellent!
I know what you mean. I’ll never remember when the doctors told me this is the best cancer you could get. It really made me think. After all the radiation and chemo I really appreciate life more than I did. It sucks that I needed a near death experience to make me wake up to what life’s all about. But here I am!

Hodgkin’s lymphoma. I’m pretty sure that’s what Dan has. The only good thing is it’s highly curable unlike most cancers. If you had to pick a cancer out of a hat and hope for the best you’d want Hodgkin’s. Regular lymphoma usually comes back after about 10-20 yrs but Hodgkin’s lymphoma people might don’t relapse at all or as easy as regular lymphoma patients.
