The United States are the Greatest Nation ever, there can be no doubt about that. But her elections are absolute third-world shit-tier level. Nearly every nation on Earth with a literacy of more than 60% has a better system in place. What a disgrace.

Let's be real, it wouldn't be this way if our politicians didn't want it this way. There's certainly a large degree of incompetence in our government, but a larger degree of malice and lust for power, and that's what scares me the most.

State laws make state rules. Wrong branch of government. You would need an amendment in order to make the Fed force the states to some sort of standard. Also there were too many RINO's in to ever let that fly, they are part of the problem.

Poster said his name is not his name was. Big difference. Lighten up, for the love of God,

-3
ArdentGrasshopper -3 points ago +1 / -4

Obviously I'm aware of that. How do you think it changes what I said? Let me give you a crude example.

Suppose you take the soviet flag and a white marker and connect the sickle with the hammer. Technically, it's not a Soviet flag any more. And you can explain how it's different and wants to convey a different meaning (perhaps totally contrary to the original) and you would be right. But the people watching you waving the flag will first and foremost evoke whatever mental associations they may have with the Soviet flag - because that's what human brain does, super fast associations.

So if you're using material in a cognizant way, you pick and choose the right material for the right job.

4
Desperado 4 points ago +4 / -0

I hate to be that guy, but you're the only one here who sees potential ill in a light-hearted, pro-Trump message.

Well, this can read in two ways. You 'll probably benefit if you figure out the right way.

Don't underestimate people.

The funny thing about people is that most of the time you don't have to do any estimation about them. They gladly talk enough to be liable for categorization without you expanding any effort.

I'll do my own thinking.

Great, everyone should do that. The trick is to make sure it produces correct outcome. So you'll need to train at it, consciously and vigorously, assuming you're not just saying it as a hip slogan.

Election fraud facilitation is deliberate. Always has been.

It's good to be a legislator. Trade on inside information, accept lobbyist gifts/trips/etc as an incentive to support legislation that THEY write for you, rig elections and enjoy a perpetual position of power and influence peddling. Best part: no term limits, because why the fuck would they give themselves term limits?

Tenured professors look like wimps compared to these guys.

12
Thrasymachus 12 points ago +12 / -0

The ugly truth is that American elections have always been rife with chaos.

Throw a huge party and buy off voters with free booze? Everyone's invited!

Run poor people around to vote all day at multiple sites? They're honest men down on their luck and a little triple/quadruple/quintuple/octuple voting never hurt anyone!

Got your hand on a box of fresh ballots? Fill them out however you please!

Not enough? Manufacture new ballots!

Couldn't get your hands on fake ballots? Just pay off the counters!

This shit's been rife at virtually every level for two-hundred years. It's going to take a real big push for meaningful election reform. It's a double-whammy to the powers that have perfected abuse of the system in contemporary times: it makes us look weak by admitting there had been a problem, and two--and more importantly--it compromises their ability to cheat the way they have for decades and decades.

9
JerryNadlerBeltFund 9 points ago +9 / -0

It's absolutely disgusting. And here's another thing - I've got OAN on in another window, where a general is talking about scorecard. . .

How is it OK that we fuck with other peoples' elections? America First is just that - We take care of our shit, you take care of yours. GEOTUS' inauguration speech said it far more eloquently.

The moment we fuck with the elections of other sovereign nations, in the Bush/Clinton/Obama tradition, we're the baddies, right? The CIA is a cesspool. We need intelligence, and we need an amazing defense for any possible attack. We don't need to control outcomes in other countries to "spread peace and democracy" or whatever bullshit reason they give.

Donald Trump is a gift that we all cherish here. The cries from MSM, RINOs and foreign nations to "return to normal" piss me off, as that expression means "return the USA to its rightful position as the world's piggy bank."

Its the dems who are completely to blame for this election mess.

Republicans, RINOs, can be called all kind of things, but at the end of they day most of them walk away with the support of the silent majority.

Its the democrats pandering to the libtard gangs like blm/antifa, the blue and purple haired freaks, the immigrants who want more and more rights - its this dems who use the election as a way to usurp the voice of the majority and introduce their fuckery.

4
Specter 4 points ago +4 / -0

While I agree that the dems are the masterminds. From a Jocko extreme ownership perspective, we have all failed by allowing the BLM and Antifa ignorance to spread, and have allowed socialism to spread in our society for years.

https://www.loc.gov/law/foreign-news/article/germany-constitutional-court-decision-on-electronic-voting/

(Mar. 25, 2009) On March 3, 2009, the Federal Constitutional Court issued a decision that may prevent the use of electronic voting machines in future German elections. (Bundesverfassungsgericht, Docket Nos. 2 BvC 3/07 & 2 BvC 4/07, http://www.bundesverfassungsgericht.de/entscheidungen/cs20090303_2bvc000 307.html (last visited Mar. 23, 2009); Press Release No. 19/2009, Federal Constitutional Court, Use of Voting Computers in 2005 Bundestag Election Unconstitutional (Mar. 3, 2009) [in English], available at http://www.bundesverfassungsgericht.de/pressemitteilungen/bvg09-019en.ht ml.) The case concerned the federal election of 2005 in which 39 voting districts in several states used electronic voting machines instead of paper ballots. Some two million votes were cast in this manner. The Court held that the particular voting machines used in the election did not live up to the constitutional principle of transparency of elections, which requires that voting machines be safeguarded against potential manipulation or error through procedures that are understandable to the average citizen. The Court, however, did not invalidate the election, because there had been no evidence of abuse or error involving the machines.

The Court invalidated the Federal Voting Machine Regulation (Bundeswahlgeräteverordnung, Sept. 3, 1975, BUNDESGESETZBLATT I at 2459, as amended, available at http://bundesrecht.juris.de/bwahlgv/index.html). This Regulation failed to require transparent control mechanisms for ensuring an accurate vote count and thereby violated article 38 and article 20, paragraphs 1 and 2, of the Basic Law (the Federal Constitution) (Basic Law for the Federal Republic of Germany (Grundgesetz, GG) [in English translation], http://www.iuscomp.org/gla/statutes/GG.htm#20 (last visited Mar. 23, 2009)). Article 38 guarantees free and equal elections, whereas article 20, paragraph 1, requires that governmental power be based on elections and paragraph 2 guarantees that laws and regulations are in conformity with the Constitution.

Austria's highest court has annulled the result of the presidential election narrowly lost by the candidate of the far-right Freedom Party.

The party had challenged the result, saying that postal votes had been illegally and improperly handled.

The Freedom Party candidate, Norbert Hofer, lost the election to the former leader of the Greens, Alexander Van der Bellen, by just 30,863 votes or less than one percentage point.

The election will now be re-run.

Most countries of the world ban mail-in voting due to fraud & vote buying By Guest Post -August 9, 20203 “If concern about vote fraud with mail-in ballots is delusional, it is a delusion shared by most of the world.”

~John Lott

A new report highlights the restrictive laws most European countries and other developed areas throughout the world have in regards to mail-in voting, contrasting highly permissive U.S. regulations, as the debate over the security of the practice ramps up ahead of the presidential election.

77
Yheymos 77 points ago +77 / -0

We in Canada get of the third category an endless wave of worthless garbage third world savages. The Islamist invasion is a real thing here. I don't care about bringing people from third world countries who are truly Western loving and civilized. But that isn't what happens... we just are letting in endless Western hating savages like in Europe/Sweden and behaving like we are so compassionate because of it. That combined with the destructive, anti unity multiculturalism system... Canada is fucked.

I'll probably be an immigrant (or refugee haha) to the USA in a couple decades... escaping the hellish third world mess that Canada is on its way to becoming... Sweden style. Hopefully I can just immigrant traditionally before then.

Vancouver BC is like that with the Chinese, except they are - for the most part - extremely wealthy. They gobbled up all the real estate. Every single building is a carbon copy of the other.

Otherwise they will just print as many as they need and fill them out overnight like we just saw in 5 different major cities.

yep. Need ID to match the mail voting card. I think you can also bring proof of citizenship, bills proving your current address and get a day of vote.

except for this situation: Option 3: If you don't have ID You can still vote if you declare your identity and address in writing and have someone who knows you and who is assigned to your polling station vouch for you.

The voucher must be able to prove their identity and address. A person can vouch for only one person (except in long-term care institutions).

I believe there are three options: Showing photo ID, showing two official documents with your name, and address, or having someone with the aforementioned vouching for you.

2

Very little resistance but I think we are always late to the party. I am constantly sending links and sources to my friends, family, and peers, as you all should be doing. throwing out red pills left and right. I find the old generation 50+ to be the most resistant to believe communism is on our doorstep. It makes sense though, they have never seen a hard day in their life. The shit is finally at our doorstep and our parents are okay with this bullshit theyre rolling in.

People in there 20s, 30s are more based though with open minds and not so willing to give up their freedoms they have come accustomed to enjoying. I am willing to fight, and so are many others if it comes to it. I will never be a slave to fear and neither should you.

27
IntrepidBurger 27 points ago +27 / -0

The tweet is sneaky. They say they don't use Dominion for federal elections. Which is true. It's used for provincial elections in Ontario though, the biggest province by population (and the most ridings by a long shot)

Also used in New Brunswick.

6
Mathelm 6 points ago +6 / -0

For Local elections ie. Mayor, city council. yes,
But for Provincial (State) and Federal Elections, I doubt it.
It's just a small slip of paper (smaller than your whole hand)
How would a machine calculate that?

3
spacealien 3 points ago +3 / -0

Perhaps Scheer won vs Bernier was because the machines cheated.

Good people can never get to the real election.

Liberals love to use Canada as an example to emulate their Healthcare system, let's see them defend their Election system.

9
Yheymos 9 points ago +9 / -0

As a Canada Trump supporter... I must say I actually don't mind our health care system. Not to say the same thing would work in the USA. Conservatives up here tend to like the system but acknowledge its flaws, generally suggesting a dual system that still has private options.

I've often said that if Trump found a way to make such a system work, an effective tax payer funded 'universal' system, maybe opt in/opt out, with full private options still available it would destroy the democrats for a generation. It would red pill so many people and cause massive cognitive dissonance/identity turmoil of those on the left.

It would be hilarious! TRUMP the antiwar president of peace and universal health care done the right wing way. It is more just a thought to snicker about than anything.

4
McFatty7 4 points ago +4 / -0

an effective tax payer funded 'universal' system, maybe opt in/opt out, with full private options still available

We already have that. It's called Medicare (public option for old people 65+) and Medicare Advantage (government-approved private option).

However, for the most part, the "universal" (free) healthcare option is generally reserved for the old (Medicare) or really poor (Medicaid).

For anyone else who's young or middle-aged, with any kind of decent income, you either pay health insurance yourself or are reliant on their employer's healthcare benefits.

That's why declaring bankruptcy because of medical debt is a thing. If an accident or disease happens, and the insurance decides not to cover it, there's almost nothing you can do.

The US healthcare system needs an overhaul to bring down costs, starting with the cost of Medical School.

4
BladderBeerPoopin 4 points ago +4 / -0

We need tort reform. The malpractice insurance that providers have to pay is a driver in high costs of care.

Stop the ability to sue for bullshit.

1
operation_eland 1 point ago +1 / -0

Canada just like here in the UK we have the healthcare system that we can afford. The NHS in the UK is OK for some things though realistically if you have cancer you are fucked unless its caught very early. As a young person in reasonable health who doesn't earn that much money I can live with that for what I pay - we have similar outcomes to the US in most areas except cancer but we only pay about 8% of our GDP on healthcare as opposed to the US that pays 17% - the US is a wealthier country with the worlds reserve currency.

In the UK we have a lot of private options. My parents have private healthcare cover from a provider called BUPA. It's very good. Many top tier employers provide it because they can get staff who are ill back to work faster without waiting lists.

That said - I don't know know how sustainable it will be going into the future. In 1947 when it was set up we had far more workers to dependants and treatments were simpler and cheaper. The typical costs to the system for most people is at the end of their lives. My grandma had cancer and she had a lot of treatment her last few months. My grandfather when he was also diagnosed with cancer chose palliative care for his last few weeks rather than drag it out for months.

1
sleepingbeautyc 1 point ago +1 / -0

Same. Saved my life and my kids lives many times over. And it is way cheaper per person than Medicare.

If you compare votes left vs right, the left is way ahead.

1
FormerGraveheart 1 point ago +1 / -0

11
MissileToad 11 points ago +11 / -0

Our media, besides just being zealously left wing, openly receives huge bailouts from Trudeau. Our information and education systems are totally given over to commies and hardcore leftists. That being said, the Prairie provinces are not fans of Trudeau at all, my province OVERWHELMINGLY rejected his party. Unfortunately, once eastern Canada votes, it's all decided for the rest of us anyway.

5
Yheymos 5 points ago +6 / -1

Yes, Trudeau literally paid all the newspapers and tv news media companies 600 million dollars to 'protect and save the integrity of the news media in Canada. To stop misinformation. A bailout of sorts just... because'.

He did this literally out of nowhere... a year before an election. Ultra corrupt blackface, racist piece of shit.

6
AlbertaReport2020 6 points ago +6 / -0

Leadership races for both parties use dominion... that’s how he won. He also got to pick who his opponent would be. Makes sense.

5
p3rsonman 5 points ago +5 / -0

People here are completely brainwashed.

America had a Fox News (though we know they're turncoats now). Canada has no equivalent. There is no conservative media here - nothing on TV, nothing on radio. You have to seek it out online, and they're very small outlets like Rebel news.

As u/MissileToad suggests Trudeau's support is very eastern-based (i.e. Ontario + Quebec = California + New York, whereas Alberta + Saskatchewan etc. = midwest). Unfortunately the eastern provinces are far more populated and tend to swing the elections.

2
V-FOR-VICTOR 2 points ago +2 / -0

Toronto.

12
evil-doer 12 points ago +12 / -0

As a Canadian, while I disagree strongly with the current Prime Minister, I will say that our elections are night and day compared to the states.

Ive been voting for 30+ years and they always have enough polling locations that there is basically zero wait. Ive never had to wait more than 2 or 3 minutes, literally. Its a simple paper ballot and you pencil in your choice, the paper gets folded and placed into a box. They check your ID as well, and they have a list of everyone that is registered to vote in that building, and cross your name off as voted.

After the polls close, a winner is declared normally within the hour. Votes are counted by hand with watchers to make sure they are valid. Again, enough of them that the process is very quick.

8
evil-doer 8 points ago +8 / -0

The only thing I would change, is that because it is so quick, they could actually do a recount the same night, a redundancy count. After a box is counted by one group of people, it could be passed off to a different group and counted, and as long as the count is within a margin of error, they clear it as valid. If not, a third count is done and the people who miscounted would be investigated.

4
Crankyboy 4 points ago +4 / -0

Good idea.

2
BladderBeerPoopin 2 points ago +2 / -0

The way it should be.

2
operation_eland 2 points ago +2 / -0

Same thing here in the UK. Some places in London there can be lines at the polling stations in the evening. Generally there is no wait. Paper ballots. In my last job I actually worked at a polling station for the European elections. I also worked at one of the constituency counting stations bringing the ballot boxes for counting.

We do have mail in voting in the UK but most of the places its a thing - there is evidence its being used for corrupt purposes but the seats that have those issues are swamps in certain labour constituencies and that is more about internal power struggles in the labour party and local elections than anything else. Saddiq Khan in London got a foot in the door that way and saw off another Muslim who was seemingly more popular and far less sinister. It wouldn't really impact a general election all that much - labour already have a lot of the urban vote sewn up.

1
spacealien 1 point ago +1 / -0

When I voted for Faith Goldy they put the ballot into a machine.

2
MapleBaconWaffles 2 points ago +2 / -0

We don't have straight popular vote.

Our country is broken up into "ridings" (same concept as congressional districts) and each riding elects one MP (member of parliament). The party which has the most MPs gets their leader as the Prime Minister.

Basically, it's like if your house majority leader was President.
