so, for them to say "we have determined that we cannot trust the results of this election based on our canvasing efforts" would mean that, when they started reaching out to people who voted by mail, or are purported to have voted by mail, that the results were not indicative of the results presented in the election. E.G. they called people who were listed as having voted, and they either said 'no i voted republican, or i didnt request nor send in a ballot".

now, the next step in the process, is for the state board to review their findings, and agree or disagree with them. There has NEVER been a recorded case that i can find, where the canvassing board declined to certifiy, but the state canvassing board decided to overrule them. Think of it like the principal coming in and changing a students grade on a test they never took, to a passing grade.

This would mean they board would logically under normal circumstances decline to certify the election results, and request that the state legislature step in.

Good thing michigan state legislature is vast majority republican.
