The whole idea of voting is to trick you into thinking you have some control so you do not rebel. Voting also gives our rulers a fake legitimacy and to make you feel partially guilty for the crimes they commit.
People can do as they wish, but so many will never vote again, in fact that might change the system more than voting does.
