Do you really think they care about temporarily losing the Senate? They have already used Trump to appoint lots of conservative judges. Anyway a 52-48 GOP Senate is not much better than a 50-50 Dem Senate because Collins and Murkowski will defect and make it 50-50 most of the time.
The GOP is already looking ahead to 2022 and they are expecting Biden to be a one-term president due to age. They have nothing to lose.
The RINO establishment never liked Trump. With him out of the picture, they can take back the party and return it to what it was before. That is the primary goal, not Senate control or trying to somehow help Trump win at this point.
