This has been difficult for me to come to terms with. I've spent decades trying to reach out to them, at one point basically dedicated my life to it for about five years. I'm always looking for the best in people.

However they DO lie about everything. Just imagine: when I was a child the Berlin Wall fell. I remember well the elation and sense of community which came from that. We triumphed over evil. It was a victory for all of humanity.

Consider: there must have been a huge swath of America adults who were mortified and grieving over that event. They've had to internalize that and lie about it except within closed circles for decades.
