Yep. I have been reading on it. There is a spanish historian called Pio Moa who describes how the left stole the 1936 election and increased the violence against the right. They had their version of Antifa engaging in intimidation and getting away with it. Parallels are scary.

Well no one really won either they ended up with a dictatorship. Shitty thing about revolutions and civil war no one knows what comes out the other side.

Peace was not possible... at that time we couldn’t stand each other. Divisions and tensions had reached such a point that even seeing a socialist, not to mention a communist, was the same as seeing the devil.

I do feel like we’re getting close to that right now. From what I read and saw and landowners started getting killed en masse it seemed like something just changed in people and they saw their political enemies as something akin to animals to be killed.
