You can't stop the signal.

Pictured: AWCY dev group's CZ Scorpion in bronze filament, plus some off-the-shelf metal gibbets to handle the worst mechanical and thermal stresses. One FFL-holder tested all the components with a licensed automatic receiver and not a single thing failed with around 1400 shots in a couple hours.

lower receiver?

Whole thing, minus the bolt, barrel, and a few other bits. Here's the full component view: https://i.imgur.com/AQtNFYq.png

what kind of filament? thats rad. where'd you get the file?

Tecumseh_S64 [S] 2 points ago +2 / -0

duckduckgo, AWCY CZ Scorpion. Their readme will tell you more specifics but PLA once annealed is very tough.

Where can I find the bolt barrel and trigger? Do they have to be cz brand?

2
Tecumseh_S64 [S] 2 points ago +2 / -0

Their documentation should specify which components work with it. If in doubt, go with cz brand or something absolutely known to work with it.

3D printed tail hook too?

4
Tecumseh_S64 [S] 4 points ago +4 / -0

Yes.

2
ThirstyLibertyTree 2 points ago +2 / -0

Nice. Will have to check for the latest files.

Is it against COC to explain how to get to this stuff? I’m sure many would like to know.

No, but some degree of separation is sensible with how touchy people can be these days. If you search for the name 'AWCY CZ Scorpion' on duckduckgo, you will find all of it.

What am I looking at?

4
Tecumseh_S64 [S] 4 points ago +4 / -0

Printed semi-automatic CZ Scorpion. If you're unfamiliar, it's a 9mm compact weapon not too dissimilar in its role from an MP5.

There is a man who goes by the handle of CtrlPew. His guides will show you the way.

tl;dr they're impressively cheap but you should pay attention to some of the minutia in their specs.

Don't forget to look into how to anneal parts after printing them.

You may. I have not printed any firearms myself, but I am a published author in the realm of 3D printing. At minimum I will know where to send you.

That’s amazing. Here I am thinking my form labs is hot shit..

It looks like the finer legal pairing is a binary trigger with all else standard parts.

How awful. You're certain to lose every single firearm you own on that outing. /s

anyone remember the feds setting up that ceo of the 3d printed guns startup several years back? i think it was a tinder setup where he arranged a typical date with someone and it was the feds with a underage girl. he was instantly ruined. the uniparty REALLY doesn't like 3d guns

really sweet commie blaster you got there

Tecumseh_S64 [S] 2 points ago +2 / -0

Too bad, they kept working with no leader.

1
shadle2001 1 point ago +1 / -0

So you are telling me that I can print that gun and make it look any color...i.e. red white and blue?

2
Tecumseh_S64 [S] 2 points ago +2 / -0

Sure. Though that may be inadvisable for material properties reasons that are tricky to explain. I'll put it this way: dyes affect plastics in different ways. Having too much of an effect relative to another material in the same part will make it fail very quickly.

1
shadle2001 1 point ago +1 / -0

Then I'll stick with the copper color.

1
Tecumseh_S64 [S] 1 point ago +1 / -0

Really what it means is one part, one color. Don't try to mix them on individual parts. Any color is fine, just don't try to combine them on single components.

This is really cool. Do you have any other examples of well made 3D printed guns?

2
Tecumseh_S64 [S] 2 points ago +2 / -0

There are many. The FGC-9 is the flagship right now, as it it uses no regulated components in Europe. There are many pistols too, plus rifles. Here's the very silly printed AKM receiver launch video, the Plastikov: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=0_gjwGNkVX8

1
Vivadiscordia 1 point ago +1 / -0

Awesome, thanks. Do you know how much the components cost for any one of these firearms? I'm curious how the price compares to just buying a standard gun.

2
Tecumseh_S64 [S] 2 points ago +2 / -0

Well over $1000 for a factory CZ Scorpion with minimal bells and whistles. The barrels range from $150-250, the bolt and fire control group together is probably another $200. Plus the cost of the printer (which is about $200), $700 will build this gun though you will save an assload of money printing magazines.

1
Vivadiscordia 1 point ago +1 / -0

Very cool, I appreciate the info.

2
Tecumseh_S64 [S] 2 points ago +2 / -0

The truth of all printed guns is printing the magazines is always a winning move. A spring costs $1-2, and the plastic materials of a 30-round glock magazine are about $2-5 depending on how fancy you get. They each last 500-600 rounds, but the spring lasts longer.
