Watched a series called Trotsky on Netflix. It's in Russian with subtitles, however it was surprisingly open and damning of his character and movement (for a Russian made series).
It provides a good coverage of what happened and I found it entertaining. Especially the ending.
There's a scene where the protagonist is wandering around the woods, and the children of the village come out to him, singing, that will haunt your dreams (or nightmares).

I recommend Mister Jones, a very good film on the man who exposed the holodomor to the world.
