It's worth noting that voter turnout is calculated differently, depending on what metric people are using.
Normally, when you see the average of 58 or 62% voter turnout, they calculate that based on Voting Age Population. So a 58% voter turnout is the percentage of anyone ELIGIBLE to vote, that voted. So people who don't even register to vote are included.
Here, the turnout is calculated based on registered voters. 98% of registered voters turned out. That's insane. If you added in the Voting Age Population, the number would be significantly lower (But still VERY high compared to past averages).
