If it recieves a signal, or sends one out. You will be tracked. It is called cell tower triangulation. The tracking doesnt come from the device itself.
I don't see how this would be better than just turning off gps on a regular phone. It's on ATT towers. They will know your location anytime the phone is on, sends a text/date or calls. At the $300 price it seems like getting a cheap burner phone and turning off the settings when not in use is a way better option. The service plan is $30 a month ? Why? For talk and text? That's too much.
This is a minimalist type phone, not a security type phone. It still has apps and connects to app stores, GPS, ect.. Several reviews have confirmed this. Its good for the addicted phone user, but not so much for the security minded folk.
I bet if you committed a crime, they could track you by the towers it pings off of.
It has GPS.
Damnit. Beat again
DAMN!!!! I thought it was a good post...
Great minds fren. Great minds.

Not bad, but $300 seems steep for an old style cell phone that looks like a first Gen ipod.
And they are talking about paying for carbon offset. Good thought but I'll pass .
Nah, just give me a Nokia. Those things will never die on you.

Sadly the no email function would be a deal killer for me right off the bat. I think the idea though.
