I really don't understand that mindset. Why is it so important to take away our guns and liberties? What is the end game here? I have a really hard time explaining this to anybody that asked me why I support Trump when I tried to take this angle.

Dude - seriously?

Without guns you can’t stand up to the government.

Yeah I guess that was a dumb question thanks for calling me out. I don't really own any guns except for a shotgun for home defense... I've known a lot of people who are obsessed with them and I've never really understood that. I definitely understand the need to defend your freedom though, thanks for clarifying to this tired moron 👍

I've known a lot of people who are obsessed with them

It's the same reason people are "obsessed" with their cars, motorcycles, boats, guitars, tools, fitness and their kids just to name a few. There's a passion behind it and that can come from many different prospectives. Some just collect guns that are unique and rare. Some want the latest and greatest thing. Some have a serious prepper mindset and having lots of guns and ammo are a way to protect what they have. Some are outdoorsman or competitive shooters who believe there's always a better tool to get the job done. Some just have money to burn and get a "buyer's high" from purchasing a new gun every week.

Shotgun is the best primary firearm to have.

It’s good to have a pistol as well because you obviously can’t conceal a shotgun if you need to leave your house during the zombie apocalypse.

  1. the 'rule of law' is a special case of the more general 'rule of the strong', one where 'the strong' hold themselves to the same standards as they hold others.
  2. 'the strong' are the armed people of the several States, as long as they recognize it uniformly
  3. you can't have 'government of, by, and for the people' unless the people are 'the strong', i.e. armed
  4. people who aren't armed are widgets
