Because it's just a saying people use.
Literally everyone knows what a kraken is.
Of course Karma I didn’t think of that before I posted this question. I’m sure one of the closet advisors to the trump campaign just stated ‘release the Kraken’ for absolutely no reason but to revive a dead meme hahahahaha.
I am telling you "Release the Kraken" is a common phrase similar to "bring the pain."

And you "discovering" what a Kraken is, is meaningless. Though, it may be new to you, literally everyone knows what a Kraken is... its been in popular films like Pirates of the Carribean and there's a popular rum literally called "The Kraken" which features a lavish illustration on its label showing exactly what a Kraken is and does.
You have to enterain the fact that she could just be using a common expression and maybe Sidney herself isnt intimately familiar with the exact wiki definition which you seem to have such a hardon over.
