Lake county, more than 10,000 lakes. Plenty of lakefront houses for that price. I guess mansion is subjective, but not too long ago there was beautiful 6 bedroom Spanish style newish construction house right on lakeshore drive in Clermont(which has inflated prices, especially lakeshore dr) for 600k. IMO it is mansion.
Never could understand the whole Lake County name when Sinkhole Slew would have done just fine. Just kidding!
I'm closer to the West Coast, which still confounds my geographical sense. There are some real mansions (or cribs--in the vernacular) somewhere's north of your area; however, they're not going for those prices!
I'm in Hernando...600k does buy some nice digs...more than I could ever afford, mostly in the 3500-4000sf range. Of course, 5 mill will buy this modest cottage on the water:
