I've got a Dutch colleague who says that it'sactually freer in China than it is here. He refused to comply with politically correct speech at our university and the admin summarily dismissed him. He's an Asian specialist, speaks Mandarin, so he got a job in China and can speak his mind there without reprisal. Good for him.
