Crypto is a jump in jump out. It's not a buy and hold. Bitcoin and most any other crypto has been a loser over five years but it's volatility makes it an overall money maker if you're disciplined.
"Bitcoin and most any other crypto has been a loser over five years"
Not really. There was a brief spike to 20,000 (for a few months), but it fell back to about half that spike, and now it is close to it again (I think around 16,000).
Not that many did, but BTC was about .07 in 2011. So if you dropped in $1000 and were stupid enough to never cash out since then:
Only Hind sight is 2020 sight bud. You never know when the peak is, and you may go to sleep one day and wake up to a tremendous fall in value for crypto.
As far as I know, only Trump and Pence Prime have a time machine.

1/.07 = 14 14 * 1000 = 14000 14000 * 16000 = 224,000,000
If you had cashed out at peak a few years ago it was over 260,000,000
Not bad for a $1000 investment. Stick kicking myself routinely
