i just got temporarily banned from one of the christian subreddits I follow for sharing this study. Why? because to them, sharing this and calling out the people supporting this nonsense was uncharitable. Absolute lunacy and really discouraging
Jesus Christ himself would have most likely received a ban on christian subreddits if we're being honest. He drove the money changers in the temple with a whip that he took the time and energy to make. Think that would be considered uncharitable to them? Their definition of uncharitable is any position that goes against what they believe.
Jesus was also saying stuff in direct conflict with the written religious law and the dictates of the priests/rabbis. He would have definitely been banned right before being crucified.
Banning is modern day crucifixion. back then they didn't like what someone said so they nailed them to crosses. In some cases if the accused hanging on the cross would renounce what they said they were let down and allowed to live
We're living it. Either side of Vatican 2 or not. Christians shouldn't be this afraid and these shutdowns are actually hurting the poor and disadvantaged.
r/Christianity has been super-progressive for many years -- what they follow can hardly be called Christianity at this point -- and sadly I never found any other good Christian subreddits.
Lol. I said the same thing before I saw your comment. :) There's a lot of good talk going on there, even for Protestants because at least it gives you an idea of the beliefs that the other denominations arose from.
This is so refreshing to hear. The demoralization campaign is real. I have to constantly tell myself i'm not crazy. it's even worse when you're surrounded by people claiming to believe the same things you believe. I've stayed on reddit because even though it's a cesspool, people still need to hear the gospel no matter where, but holy moly it's poisonous there.
Mainstream Christianity has been corrupted just like every other human institution in this modern era. My family left church in the 1980's to flee this corrupting influence. We later encountered this writing (below) which epitomized some of the problems with Christianity (at the time). Give it al look if you're interested. You may find it relatable.

Is Alex Jones our Jesus Christ?
And they certainly wouldn't want Paul around.
sounds like Alex Jones
If he were alive today, they would mandate that he wrap his entire body in the Shroud of Turin. To protect others...
He is alive today, but that's why they still ridicule all his teachings.
It's the exact same type of people that betrayed and crucified him who are moderating those subs.
That shows a total lack of Grace on their part. Which is worse?

What about Orthodox Christians?
it was r/reformed which was nominally better, but they've really fallen off the rails as of late.

/r/traditionalcatholics was the best I could find. Not perfect, and it's Catholic not Protestant, but they stick to their guns.
Protestants are gay as fuck.
If that were true your Pope would approve of them more.
Lol. The Virgin Mary approves. :)
Not all Christians understand their own beliefs. Keep your chin up and help them see the light.
I stopped going to my church because of a mask mandate. I refuse to be part of that charade.
I say it's the shadow of the mark of the beast, or shadow of the mark/beast. my pastor agrees.
the division of the wheat from the tares is a sign of the coming harvest.
I say it's the precursor stage to the mark of the beast to get people used to complying.
exactly.
At least your congregation is allowed inside to worship, as guaranteed by the First Amendment.
The infringements of liberty we've seen this year boggle the mind.
We did too!
Lots of Christians are fake = source am Christian been abused by fellow Christians.
