Jesus was also saying stuff in direct conflict with the written religious law and the dictates of the priests/rabbis. He would have definitely been banned right before being crucified.

Banning is modern day crucifixion. back then they didn't like what someone said so they nailed them to crosses. In some cases if the accused hanging on the cross would renounce what they said they were let down and allowed to live
