Even a half blind guy should be able to see that this is not the way.

As a veteran I am sensitive to this topic but what I don't think Dan accepts is that terrorism has evolved greatly since the days he and I served. Thanks to the destabilization of western nations in EU and here in the good ol USA (Omar), it's no longer enough to stand around in the Middle East soil and I would argue it's no longer even necessary. There is a long play in process with migration and infiltration. The Dessert Storm and Iraqi War days have passed.

Crenshaw could have been a star in the party. So disappointing.

So, permanent occupation waiting for a triggering event to fully invade again?

I've been reading stories about sons patrolling the exact same areas as their father 19 years prior. Can't believe Afghanistan became a multi-generational war. Time flies.

I'd rather have deterrence here. We imported the problem.

Guess losing only one eye wasn't enough for him.
