I’m sorry to have to give you a downvote brother, but we must resist the urge to take the communist’s ideas and encourage others to believe them.

Mental health is a lie. Obviously feeling sad is a part of life, but a life filled with honest productivity is the only way to happiness. Note that ‘honest’, that’s the important part.

Happiness is a result of fulfilling your obligations and contributing to your community with honest effort. This is all literally stated in the bible. Honesty is a huge part of resisting the urge to use vices to give you a false sense of happiness. And it’s also an important part about contributing to your community (you may feel happy by gaining vast sums of wealth as a moneylender, but your dishonest work will ultimately lead to your own internal unhappiness. Replace moneylender with anything else that’s degenerate or useless in a productivity-sense.)

Also emphasized heavily in your bible is the importance of emotional maturity and dealing with the hypocritical thoughts that all humans experience. (As an example, if somebody disrespects you, the urge to murder them is strong, but you must overcome that urge because it is you that will pay the ultimate price when you must live the rest of your life with a guilty conscience. Or consider vices like procrastination or narcotics or materialism, all of which give a an easy hit of ‘happiness’ but ultimately, they are a waste of your time and do nothing other than waste your money and prevent you from spending that time being productive and contributing to your community.) Another part of maintaining your ‘mental health’ is also related to ‘honest effort’: after periods of honest effort, the bible encourages you to relax and party and enjoy your leisure time. Religious holidays codify that idea by mandating that everybody gets to chill out for a few days every few weeks, in addition to the weekly weekend/sabbath where we have at least one entire day to spend in the loving warmth of our families.

The bible also warns against believing propaganda that could insert thoughts thst could make you believe ways that you are unhappy, that you’d never have imagined by yourself in a properly functioning society. The bible brings this topic up in a number of ways. By warning against doubting your elders’ advice. By warning that, while we should aspire to be welcoming and friendly to strangers, we should not believe everything a stranger says entirely. But particularly by discouraging idolatry. Idolatry as a notion is much misunderstood thanks to decades of propaganda (ironically) but it’s basically an expanded form of not believing weird things that strangers may tell you, expanded to something that your entire population or social circle may hear. Stuff like: Celebrity A says “we need to stop global warming!” Celebrity B says that “faggots are people too and they should be championed instead of viewed as subversive!”. Celebrity C says “we should all throw out product and spend our money on new-product!”. Celebrity D says “I hate life, why am I always so sad, aren’t you always depressed too?”. Negative thoughts like these are entirely artificial and the bible urges people to recognize that fact and to raise their kids to distrust and resist anyone who tries to make them believe stuff like this. One huge problem with our cut propagandized world is the amount of cognitive dissonance that people experience: that is, a belief that one thing is good even though it directly contradicts another one of your beliefs. In a society without subversive propaganda, people work, raise families, party during leisure time, and surround themselves with trustworthy friends. In our current propagandized society people (libtards) are encouraged to support wars despite their pacifist nature, to distrust close friends in case they are MAGA, to distrust their parents and grandparents who they’d ordinarily look up to with respect, neglect to stay informed about or worry about anything other than the MSM’s ‘concerns of the week!’, ingest and believe all sorts of fear-porn, and so on. Many such cases!

The only way to resist propaganda is to distrust the source. The best way to do this is to be sceptical about everything that you hear, especially information that you are not equipped to verify by yourself. Propaganda literally only works when the victim trusts the source. (Which is why the propaganda in the media and the propaganda spouted by teachers are especially criminal: because some people inherently trust the media, and children’s brains aren’t even fully formed yet so they inherently trust their teachers even though they’re, for the most part, too young to even decide whether they should trust or not.)

All of the above is literally all a properly functioning brain requires to be happy.

Everything the left says about mental health is so subverted and false that it’s a disgrace. Particularly the idea that people who get brainwashed into believing artificial thoughts should actually be treated as we would treat normal people. It’s all a ruse to divide your society and claim power over the population.

As for your meme edge-cases: bi-polar and schizophrenia. Yes, some people’s brains are physically injured. That is sad. But that does not mean that a physically injured brain is in any way equivalent to a normally functioning brain that has simply absorbed artificial thoughts.

Look, that was a long read, I hope you got my point. Please don’t believe libtards have anything relevant to say. We don’t need them. Their ideas about mental health are barbaric. We need you to resist the urge to believe that maybe the libtards are right about something because they’re not. And believing so will ultimately hurt you, but worse, it’ll hurt our movement. They can’t be given any inch or they’ll take a mile. Particularly on this very specific point because in this case they really are very wrong and deluded. They’ve effectively turned the innate human strive for internal happiness and subverted it into a myriad of vices that are noting but detrimental to anyone dumb enough to fall for their tricks.

I have ADHD, my mind works differently than the normal one. If you're going to stand on the soapbox and tell me that it's all fiction... you're out of your ever loving mind.

There are REAL AND OBSEVABLE mental health issues caused by imbalances in neurotransmitters and hormones that can be observed, and there's much science around that. If you're disputing hard science, then you are no different than the commies you claim to hate.

And likewise with depression. There are times when the entire world just goes grey, and you have to keep soldiering on through that. Until you have experienced that mental state, you have no idea what you're talking about, nor how much everything sucks. In that mental state, there is no happiness, no joy in anything, and it feels like everything you do is completely and utterly futile. So while you can claim to have read the Bible (start citing verses or shove it with that one), "You hypocrite, first take the plank out of your own eye, and then you will see clearly to remove the speck from your brother's eye." [Matthew 7:5 NIV].

I pray to God that you never will, even though it will give you much insight, for I do not wish that living purgatory on anyone.

Your ADHD is a deformation in your brain. It’s your responsibility to deal with that in a honest manner and to do your best to overcome your brain’s deformation so that you can live a happy life. As an example, this is exactly the same situation that anyone else with any other deficiency has a responsibility to deal with that deficiency in an honest manner; such as a blind man should never drive a car. A blind man who drives a car is failing to fulfill the responsibilities that he must fulfill in order to live a happy life given the deformation in his eyes. No blind man can ever expect to live a happy life if he fails to live up to that responsibility that he should never drive a car.

If you take offense at anything I wrote in that comment, then you are not fulfilling your responsibility! I said nothing that you should find offensive. Your ADHD mind tries to force you to think quickly and resist the ordinary urge that people have to take time to contemplate new information so that you can understand what point is being made. Resist that ADHD urge, take time to re-read my words. Your brain may be suffering from ADHD, but if you want to live a happy life, it is your responsibility to do your best to overcome that urge to move quickly by forcing yourself to take time to contemplate new information. I say that with love, brother.

If there are medications and therapies that can help with any brain injury, then they are to be welcomed as gifts from God to help us overcome these terrible afflictions.

After that preamble, to directly respond to you: if you re-read my words with an open mind, no matter how difficult that may be for an ADHD sufferer such as yourself, you will note, if you actually take time to contemplate and understand my words, that I never said anything against science or people who suffer from conditions such as yourself. In fact, you’ll notice that most of what I wrote about was regarding mental health in people with fully functional brains, because I specifically stated that.

Best of luck brother, but I urge you to return to the church. Your bible is really the best book you can learn from if you’re worried about how to live a healthy life free of depression and other meme mental health situations.

You spent three paragraphs in what can be boiled down to "just think happy thoughts and you'll be happy".

It doesn't work that way.

Also, don't lecture me about ADHD. I know full well how to leverage it, but because I do doesn't mean it just magically goes away. I have spent A LOT of time researching psychology (mostly because the brain is a rather intriguing device). And don't even begin to pretend to understand how I think - that's beyond offensive because you are just so far off the mark.

Actual mental health issues are far more common in the US than people want to believe they are, which is a huge contributing factor to homelessness. Also, the leftist idiots falsely claiming mental health issues aren't helping things. Neither are people like you that want to oversimplify and sweep it under the rug rather than drag the issue out into the light and see all of it's horror so that it can be dealt with properly.

Then again this entire thread is likely futile as...

"The way of fools seems right to them, but the wise listen to advice." Proverbs 12:15 NIV

18 minutes between my post and your reply.

Did you even bother taking time to contemplate my urge for you to take time to contemplate?

If you took some time, you’d realize that I’m saying that ADHD is a real illness. But ADHD, and other illnesses of the brain, are completely different to what I’m speaking about.

Even the way you assert your knowledge implies that you’re not taking time to contemplate anything. You ‘researched’ the brain because you think it’s interesting. That’s great. But you obviously haven’t studied it properly or you’d not be acting like this because you’d understand my point. You’d probably also rattle off your hard-earned qualifications.

But research and study are to be encouraged, IMO. If the brain interests you, I recommend that you go to college to study neuroscience or psychology! If you’re concerned about costs, your local state schools will have your back (they provide top notch education, don’t believe the memes about them being inferior to ivy leagues!).

I’m a mechanical engineer. I understand science. I also understand bunk science. And there’s a bunch of bunk with regard to the ‘science’ of mental illness. [Again, not ADHD, I mean emotionally-based mental illnesses such as depression, homosexuality or transgenderism]. If you want to talk science, I’m your man. But I’m not gonna sit here and listen to anyone claim that science is infallible because it’s not. The entire point of science is that it’s inherently fallible. Because it’s man-made.

If you want to talk about our society’s treatment of mental health issues, ask yourself why the elites shit down all of the asylums? The people who’d ordinarily be there (for whatever reason, either they’re going through a temporary bad patch, or are legitimately incapable of functioning in society) are now walking our streets and expecting to have their opinions listened to. And expect the rest of us to defer to their political inclinations.

And finally dude, as a guy who’s clearly decades older than you, can I just encourage you to knock off the know-it-all accusatory tone. It makes you look dumb. It’s also infuriating to read. Try to take time, contemplate new information, take time to decide whether you really should be feeling anger, whether you should be so accusatory, just try to tease out what emotions a particular comment makes you feel, and whether it’s actually appropriate to feel that way. And try to stop putting words into people’s mouths too, that’s just bad form, ADHD or no ADHD.

As I said in every previous comment, all the best bro! Hopefully you do actually study one of those subjects, it’s great to hear about people with genuine interest studying topics they love!

I am going to be blunt, the PP above you is mostly correct, but certain parts that deal with functions like ADHD and ADD are real.

It is our responsibility though. It takes those that do have it extra steps in order to reign in the problems that those have those problems. For ADHD simply do more exercise than a normal person can solve that since it drains ones energy more meaning that one is likely to pay closer attention from not moving around so much, and ADD the simplest is meditation(I am not talking about the OHm or whatever is popular, what I am talking about is doing exercise meditation where say you have an object that you balance in a hand, then the side of a hand, then to a finger[Trust me it is much harder, but more effective than what I heard doctors recommend{Do note though that these are for those that fall under the medium or lower ends of the extreme since the goal is to correct what the symptoms that are not caused by chemical imbalance}]).

That's one way, I find that lots of caffeine helps with it too (provided you have a day or two each week with no caffeine so you don't build up a tolerance to it). I was on a suppliment regiment for a while that helped with it too, so there's multiple avenues for attack on it (which is nice). For me, I never really had the hyperactivity side of things.

Main thing that rubs me the wrong way is when you say you have X and people automatically assume you're an idiot, can't focus, and need to have everything explained to you. The reality is ADD is all about learning how to leverage https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Hyperfocus and make it productive.

All the "vices" that you mentioned are idols. The example you brought up with the lender making money but through negative means and the end result of internal unhappiness... This individual may be "rich" in money and possessions, but is "poor" in happiness.

Good assessment of what is found in the Bible, this is the same thing that I get from reading the Bible.

I mentioned in one of my posts the meaning of the order to be fruitful, to multiply, and to subdue the earth... To be productive, to create abundance, and to continue God's work of creation using the earth's resources... And doing this per the blueprint that God provided us via his commandments.

You mentioned honest work leading to happiness. This is paradise, to do the work that God intended us to do. The kind of work we do is important in God's eyes, from the person sweeping the floor to the person running the company. From the entry level civil service employee to the President, Congress, and the Supreme Court.

We glorify God through honest work, through honest service to God, etc. We end up seeing the glory of God through our individual and collective work.

My pleasure! Please feel free to copy/paste that to anyone who you think needs to Hesse about how these ‘people’ have ruined our social fabric.

This was a giant word vomit.

Yes, mental health today is used by soy boy cucks and loser women as a way to be a victim but for some it’s very very real.

Yeah it’s real if the brain is injured or deformed in a way that causes schizophrenia, bi-polar, ADHD, or something like that. But I wouldn’t even class those as mental illnesses. They’re physical afflictions.

Of course, in the above comment I’m speaking about ‘emotional illnesses’. All of which are caused by propaganda. All of which would be cured by returning our country to Christian tradition.

Mental illnesses are real, I suffer from Depression and anxiety. Guess what, I am a baptized and saved Baptist Christian. To denegrate those who suffer from any mental illness is hurtful and foolish. Mental illnesses are not punishment for sins.

Disregard what he’s saying. He’s clearly uninformed.

“Mental health” these days is indeed a big business and a way for vain people to be vain and remain victims. Big time. That being said, bipolar and schizophrenia are both very very real. Acting as if they’re not and trying to tie it in with some faux biblical teachings is dishonest.

I say this as a devout Christian/Catholic myself.
