ICU's are almost always at 90pct capacity. That is normal. They put all their worst patients there because they can charge a fuckton to insurance companies for ICU stays. ICU's are money makers. It is like having a automotive repair shop and not using your bays/lifts.
My medical system serves a population of about 300k people. This week we have about 5 COVID patients in ventilators system-wide, and maybe 60 in the hospital getting more basic levels of support.
This illness is real, but for the overwhelming majority it’s just a nuisance. People at risk should protect themselves, everybody else needs to get on with life. We simply cannot have a planet where we shut down everything for each new flu that comes along, the cure if much worse than the disease.
Whenever you hear that ICU / Hospitals are "at capacity" keep in mind that they are a for-profit business. Meaning ICU's are usually running - on a normal day - at about 85% (give or take) because having lots of extra empty beds is a waste of money. So if an ICU has 20 beds and normally runs at 85% that's 17 beds full. Which means it only takes 3 more patients to be "at capacity". Whenever you hear that an ICU is at capacity it's because they are running close to that ALL DAY EVERY DAY. Don't buy the bullshit. I keep telling my wife I'll take this "pandemic" seriously when there are lines down around the block to get into the hospital and dead bodies are piling up in the streets. Until then this is BULLSHIT!
Well played. You must work at CNN
Yes, I have literally dozens of viewers!
Combined iq of 50.
Yeah, that was the point.
Yes
That's what I was gonna say lmao
It sounds that way to me.
Math is hard.
Barbie was right! Math is hard!
2+2=5 duh
the other thing they never bother to tell you is most hospital ICUs run at 60% in normal times.
You know how they will report an increase from 75% to 80% occupied, don’t you??
As a 20% decrease in the number of available beds, of course.
I will pick you up at 7:45 or if thats no good a quarter to 8
So six of one and half-a-dozen of the other?
That’s pretty serious, lol.
LOL!
DEMONkkkRATS can't do math.

This reminds me of those headlines that are all, "Almost a third of all homeless people are women" when they try to show how sexist this country is.

"Since I lost one of my lungs, I cut my smoking in half."
That math is too tricky for Libtards to get the joke though
Heads I win, tails you loose.
This is a shocking non-turn of events!
ICU never sits empty. /
This is also how a lot of non-existent drug benefits are made out to be drug benefits.
Impressive doublethink
HOLY SHIT!!! HOW WILL WE EVER NOT DIE IF WE DON'T NOT WEAR THE MASKS THAT SAY THEY DON'T PREVENT THE VIRUS!!!
While we walk from the door 3 feet to the table where we take it off?
"This morning, the glass was half full but in the afternoon, it was half empty! Who could have done this!?!"
