I've been following the Montgomery story for years, too. That's how I know he's a con artist.
If you really care, you can dig up the court case where Arpaio testified that Montgomery scammed him.

What better way to hide something than in a well known scam artist's repertoire. Plausible deniability already heavily set in, in plain sight, and no one would be any the wiser.
