I've had mypillows for 3 years now, and they are still fluffy, and supportive since the day I bought them. Every pillow I've ever bought before was done in 6-12 months.
I got 4 for $100, so about 25 a pillow. Not a bad price, on par with most at the store. But even though it may cost almost nothing to make, I can't make it, so I'm paying them to do it for me.
It's the same with any product. Clothing for example costs pennies/dollars to make, but you have to pay more than just the materials. If you don't know how to make jeans, sure maybe if you practice enough you can learn how to make high quality jeans yourself for 5 dollars. But how much time and effort are you going to have to put into learning how, practicing, wasting materials until you get it right, and even after all that you still have to put the additional time to just simply make them. If I made my own jeans right now, it would probably cost me upwards of $500 in materials/time before I even had a shitty pair I could actually wear lol
