Did they have to cut the intestine in half and stitch two ends back together or was it more like a slice it opens an pull it out? My boy has had the 2 ends stitched back together and according to the vet the likelihood of it healing correctly and staying together aren’t very good.. he’s still young, 4 years old 😔

They had to cut and remove about 10” of her intestines and reattach. The blockage was there for almost 3 weeks before she presented any symptoms. The area around the corn cob had to be removed.

Also she was 4 when this happened, she’s 6 now.

Gives me hope man. Appreciate you sharing. 10’ inches is so much, glad she made it. Levon had 3-4’ inches removed. Was the vet really cautious of this surgery to you? My vet has made it Clear the odds of it working this time are very slim.

Yeah, the vet made the seriousness of the situation clear. Although we didn’t have much of a choice because of the amount of time the corn cob had been in there, caused the 10 inches of intestines to rot. Kept her there for two days after the surgery, partially sedated because of the risk of the stitches coming undone. Praying you get the call to pick up your recovered boi soon.
