Why does our side seem to have so many traitors? Even before today I noticed it. I would try to redpill people who identify as Republicans on what is happening in our university system and what has happened to the Millennial/Zoomer generation and they would just say "there is no woke movement, stop listening to a bunch of preteen girls on Twitter." These same people claim there is no epidemic of false sexual harassment claims, and looking at their social media feeds now they are saying that Donald Trump lost the election and that he should just concede.
Its bad enough having the left do all of its bullshit, but what's more infuriating is all the RINOs. And they don't just exist in government, they exist in our average population as well. They are, what you could call, the "bluepilled Republicans" who only identify as Republicans because they live in these tiny little bubbles where the 1950s norms have managed to stick around somehow and they can't imagine that anywhere else in the country might look different. And oddly enough these people are just as aggressive about trying to deny that wokeism is ruining our country as the woke people themselves are.
Basically anyone who introduces information that shatters their belief that everything is great and nothing could possibly be wrong becomes a target of anger. Even if those people believe in the same values as they do. I think the reason we're seeing all these RINOs refusing to back Trump is because there is a certain type of Republican that refuses to admit that anything could possibly be wrong with the United States. In their delusional fantasy, the woke movement is a tiny, powerless minority shouting on Twitter, there are no real domestic terrorist organizations, and corruption in our government or college institutions cannot possibly exist.
Want to know why? Most classical Republicans only care about getting discounts on their tax returns, that's it.. nothing else. If they can see an edge in doing this by having a Democrat in office then they don't give a shit about anything else...
Unfortunately that does seem to be the truth. A lot of classical Republicans seem to have no real ideology backing their beliefs and are, as @MarchEast mentioned, just committed to normalcy bias.
