Uhm, technically we can't make that judgement. People with autism (and it's a vast spectrum) tend to not perform as well on standardized tests due to what appears to be abnormal brain function -- nobody really knows what their base intelligence is because many of them have severe difficulties with skills involving verbalization/communication. It's very hard to accurately test or even assess them. This may be setting them back insofar as those abilities make up much of the early learning humans do. I'd say that the ones that also suffer mental handicap (and there are plenty) do have lower cognitive skills, but the verdict is still out on the rest of them. (am teacher who has worked with autistic children -- believe me, they run the gamut)

As for posh speech (which I didn't see in that post; appeared incredibly common to my eyes), some people affect a certain patois betwixt sessions of sounding more pedestrian when they, to put it bluntly, desire to act like a sarcastic fucking asshole. Whether or not this is linked to autism has not been empirically measured and thus not proven.
