Some Nazis did join similar demonstrations in the past (like in Leipzig) and walked with the rest of the protestors while showing their flags. So it's partially true (don't know about today, but I would assume similar).

But it's also easier to generalize all of the protestors and group everyone under the term Nazi. Because it's done for the same reason why you guys are always Nazis in the US. It's easy to dismiss your opinion when they dismiss you as a person.

Like sympathizers, white supremacists, dudes wearing nazi uniforms waving swastika flags? Hopefully the larger crowd would step in and tell them to go home. My understanding is Germans are pretty hardcore against anything approaching that history.
