The fact that Cruz has no real power is exactly what makes this a sham. Who cares if the clueless billionaires are "on the record" when all they says is "I don't recall" or "I was unaware" the whole time.
Honestly, I don't believe they ARE aware of anything. They both fell ass-backwards into massively successful businesses by virtue of incredibly lucky timing in a burgeoning, completely unregulated market and then outside influences MADE them successful and lobbied to regulate any competition out of existence.
They're just front men for the COOs, CFOs, Shareholders and other unnamed corporate players that just so happen to have big connections to politicians both here and abroad. I doubt if either of them could even explain how their respective services actually work at this point. It's been a decade since either of them wrote any code.
It's a dog and pony show that distracts from the fact that people like Cruz and Gowdy et al aren't actually accomplishing most of what they were elected to do.
