I don't believe it will stand up in court and no reasonable person is going to accept it as legitimate. A certification now would have to be deemed fraudulently obtained through extortion.
The only two ways to proceed with a valid certification would be to have a new secret bi-partisan committee which is really bad and might not be allowed or to throw the book at the people who threatened them.
My assumption is that if they can't certify it then they can't certify it.
That throws it all out. Democrats are playing against themselves on this one. If they didn't have TDS they could approach this differently to have legal votes counted or not have so many thrown out.
At this rate the only valid outcome I can see is Wayne being thrown out entirely or a do over which would require significant reform and where possible criminal charges pressed in the interim for people trying to intimidate officials.
Rescinding the vote is a great step forward and at this point they don't need to do anything but put their feet up. Their vote is needed but if they vote it's not valid on the basis of being obtained by threatening them.
A vote obtained under duress is invalid. Rescinded or not the certification was doomed the moment footage was released from that meeting. Transparency is awesome.
