I love how her response is "But spending went up!"

Like so? That's a whole other situation that needs to be addressed by reducing waste and cutting programs but the Government spending only effects your friends/lobbyists businesses not everyone. The rest of us gotta rely on good old fashioned economic policy to not get hosed.
