Liberalism is NOT the problem. The way we got here is very complex and was a myriad of events leading a slow progression to where we are today. But good people being free to pursue their own goals to the good of humanity is not the problem.

Not being able to recognize that evil will take advantage of freedom, and the malleability of the population caused by their sloth and apathy, allowed the tyrannical heretics to believe they could advance their agenda unchecked.
