Discussing the lockdowns with my fiance last night, and it turned dark for a moment.
Anyone who's been paying attention - anyone here already knows that this isn't about C19. With a 0.03% (inflated) mortality rate, this shouldn't even be a "pandemic." They wouldn't have to remind you every 15 seconds - everyone you knew would be sick, or dead if it were half as dangerous as they wanted you to believe.
My brother and his wife tested me the other day - asked me, "what's my issue with the masks?" It was never about masks though. They are essentially useless anyway; it's about control. Physical, and psychological. Think about where we started.

We are cancelling all holidays. No July 4th (retracted). No 9/11 (retracted). No thanksgiving (restricted). No funerals (retracted). You may not gather with family or friends.
Except we know that the democrats pushing these policies, and the social elites don't fear the virus; we have troves of videos of them without masks in public - the same ones demanding we conform. Pelosi, Schumer, Cuomos, et. al. They can have as many parties, and large funerals, and social gatherings as they want. Reporters grilling the white house on mask policies, then immediately taking them off as soon as they think the cameras stopped rolling.
I told my family, as they looked at each other like I was crazy, "It isn't about the masks - it's about control. It's about conformity. The masks are just the start."
And I started to realize, that it feels like with each new iteration - each now restriction - they are dehumanizing us. We can't touch. We can't see each others' faces.
We can't meet.
I don't know what comes next, but... I'd give everything I have to wager that it isn't good.

It has a very demoralizing effect, first it was just a few weeks, remember March? Sit a home with your family and watch tiger king......all the celebs with that we're in this together bullshit? For me once the riots started it was game over. It proved the lock downs were meaningless.
This sudden wave of new lockdowns and now curfews seems draconian. Thankfully my state has not done that but Ohio where my daughter is, colorado where i have coworkers and the 2 left coast twins (NY, CA). It's insane.
Not everyone has ears to hear the truth... not yet. Keep up the fight. Stay calm but resilient with your loved ones. It takes time to change minds.
All true, what you think about. I have figured out 9/10ths of the issue with people's seeming blind following, though. Most obvious is a natural terror of the unknown. But largely I think that Americans in particular have known nothing but freedom and so incredulous, at having their liberty peeled away, that they are numbed like being in a state of shock. Stunned and frozen. Time to get out the fricken cattle prods...folks, defend yourselves and your children, what the ever-lovin' fk are you letting happen all around you?
Very well put. You put in words what I was incoherently thinking to myself. I couldn't understand why is that the Americans, one of the most freedom loving people aren't revolting en masses right this moment. And this is exactly why.
