Well yes, for sure. But this matches the DNC’s bizarre attempt at a convention. Amateurish, inept, weird, confusing - in areas where the left are supposed to be the masters. Maybe they’ve been drinking too much of their own koolaid. Messaging is huge and I can’t picture Trump allowing something this bad to ever go out to the public.
First: They’re holding up a banner that has one of Trump’s instantly recognizable “branding” tropes, his coif. However, instead of making fun of it, it looks healthy, strong and flowing.
Second: Below the hair we immediately see “BY DON”. Someone thought they were clever because of the play on words “BYE DON”, which sounds similar to “Biden”. “Bye Don” puts emphasis on “Don”, whereas “Biden” deemphasizes the “den”, so when you speak it out loud you’re only hearing the stronger mention of Trump’s name.
Third: To maintain some visual connection to the fact it’s a pro-Biden message, they kept the red striped “E” in the picture, but the value of the red color is much closer to the value of blue background than the contrast between the hair and the “BY” and “DON” so from a distance (or even if you squint) what’s really clear is: “BY DON”
At best, this presents a muddled message about Joe Biden. In a worst case scenario (for Biden) is that they ended up presenting a positive Trump message.
Thank you. The red would ordinarily stand out okay against the blue, but the gold hair and the white letters render it almost invisible (which is actually a good metaphor, comparing Trump with Biden)
Yeah, I think there is more to be worried about in this picture than bad graphic design.

I like the way you think pede. Color theory (if there is such a thing) is fascinating.

straight up when I first glanced at this image earlier I was thought things are going to get weird with all these trump supporters counting votes.
Instinctively thought they were making fun of like "Bye Biden" or something to that effect.
Then I had to actually engage my brain and read their shirts.
Marketing 101: Don't ask people to use their brains.
