TBH I haven't seen a lot about NC (just so happened to look before my travel for the holiday). I vaguely remember that its one of the limit gathering states, so decided to see what actually was posted in the EO. Going to try and swing travel the other way, FL is way better :).

How is this conversation going to go? Officer drives by a house with 4 cars and pulls a huy, comes up to the house and arrests (or try's to) several to keep the limit below 10? Like.. wtf?

I was going to brush this off, but this is what really got me.

A violation of this Executive Order may be subject to prosecution pursuant to N.C. Gen. Stat.§ l 66A-l 9.30(d), and is punishable as a Class 2 misdemeanor in accordance with N.C. Gen. Stat. § l 4-288.20A.

The consequences for a Class 2 Misdemeanor depend on your record level. If you have one prior criminal conviction, you are considered a record level I. If you have between one and four prior criminal convictions, you are considered a record level II. If you have five or more prior criminal convictions, you are considered a record level III.

Offenders who are a record level I may not be sentenced to any jail time. In fact, generally, first time offenders who are considered record level I for sentencing purposes will also qualify for a dismissal as part of a deferred prosecution. Depending on the type of charge, you may qualify for the First Offender’s program which involves completing 75 hours of community service for a dismissal. Or, you may qualify for the 90/96 program which involves completing substance abuse treatment.

Offenders who are record level II may not be sentenced to jail, but may be sentenced to probation, community service or simply asked to pay a fine.

Offenders who are a record level III may be sentenced to up to 60 days in jail at the judge’s discretion, or may be sentenced to probation, community service or simply asked to pay a fine.

And here are all of the statutes you'll have to look up for yourself, apparently to find out what penalty you may get thrust upon you. This is the "d" section. "The governing body of a county or the chair of the board of commissioners of a county, acting under the authority of G.S.166A-19.22.(1951, c. 1016, s. 2; 1953, c. 1099, s. 1; 1955, c. 387, s. 1; 1975, c.734, ss. 4-6, 14; 1977, c. 848, s. 2; 1979, 2nd Sess., c. 1310, s. 2; 1995, c. 509, s. 123; 2001-214, s. 1; 2006-66, ss. 6.5(c), (d); 2009-193, ss. 1, 2; 2009-397, s. 2; 2012-12, s. 1(b); 2012-90, s. 10; 2015-241, ss. 6.19(c), 14.30(u); 2016-87, s. 5.)" "Cooper is a horse's Ass.

The politics around this governer are extremely fucky. I read a post here that said GOP election board members sold out the NC people then resigned after extending the vote deadline but that isn’t what happened. It is worth looking into.

The governor took over the election board, got an outside attorney to sue the state, the AG said to settle and grossly misrepresented the consequences to the election board before the vote. As soon as the republican members of the board realized they had been lied to and that the settlement extended mail in deadlines they all quit the board in disgust.

I still hope our state is audited because the numbers Gov Cooper received do not add up when compared to the numbers Trump received.

Bit off subject, sorry.

I'm from the mountains up there, so I've always had this NC is red type of midset and when i read this or started to keep up, it just threw me for a loop.

No Sorrys. Thank you. I have only heard snippets of this. Cooper is a horses Ass. I keep a picture of him not wearing a mask at a bLM rally on me when I am out. I don't wear a mask, ever. I have never been questioned, but if it happens, I will present the picture, and politely tell the person calling me out to BTFO.

It's all bullshit. Resist it with no consequence.

so, suppose everyone shows up in one car, or a car is parked out of the way so from the outside there is nothing to indicate that there is a whole family gathering...

Or we can stand up like our Hasidic brothers and sisters

Ignore the knock on the door. They can see lots of cars and suspect you, surveil you, but they can't knock your door down.

If I have 10 people in my house, and a cop comes in to check, that makes it 11, which is against the "rules". Who's breaking the law here? I think it would be the cop.
