I want voter ID, but I don't want to increase costs or create another department. Can't we just use social security numbers/cards? That seems to be already in place and comes with naturalization/birth rights. I don't know the full back story on SS, so maybe I'm missing something? I do know that the card they give you is a crappy paper, so maybe need some bolstering that (security possibly as well?)?

Perhaps it can be incorporated into existing State IDs, such as a DL or Concealed Carry Permit, for example? Just a thought. Texas utiizes RealID on their DLs, and I don't know how involved putting a chip on an ID like that (a la a credit card chip) to use for VoterIID...

I thought about a DL or State ID, but both you have to qualify for, when SS is right out the gate, as well as CCP/CCW (which I already think is garbage). Maybe I'm giving SS more credit then due.
